Catherine is a writer and digital marketer. With a background in search marketing, she worked at agencies in Cape Town, London and San Francisco before returning to South Africa to start an SEO consulting business in 2010. She co-founded Black Mountain in 2012, working with brands across finance, insurance, healthcare, travel, retail and more.
She’s the author of 301 Ways to Use Social Media To Boost Your Marketing (McGraw Hill, 2010), and has written for publications including The Sunday Times, Entrepreneur magazine, Women24 and Men’s Health. She’s written two client SEO courses, and has been a course convenor and writer for digital education company GetSmarter.
She has a Business Science degree (Honours in Information Systems) from the University of Cape Town. In her spare time she loves fiction writing, exploring small South African towns and road running.
Belinda is a writer, copywriter and digital marketing consultant who has worked with some of South Africa’s biggest brands, and many exciting startups, over the past decade. As a freelance writer, she’s written extensively on travel, food, parenting, style and wellness, and has been published in The Sunday Times, Fast Company, Fairlady and Entrepreneur magazines, among others.
Before co-founding Black Mountain in 2012, she worked in the publishing industry in marketing roles for companies including Penguin Books and Harlequin.
She has a Business Science degree from the University of Cape Town (Honours in Marketing), and has lived in London, Europe and South Africa over the past 20 years. She’s also an award-winning blogger and fitness junkie, who loves discovering new bookshops around the world.
